Better Piggie Rescue Gets Some LAVIDGE Love

PHOENIX (October 18, 2024) – LAVIDGE IMPACT, the agency’s internal employee-volunteer program, visited Better Piggies Rescue on Friday, October 11 to support the nonprofit in feeding their animals, cleaning the facility and learning more about their mission.

A total of 20 LAVIDGE employees met at the rescue early on Friday morning to support the organization. Some LAVIDGE volunteers cleaned, shoveled droppings, and interacted with the pigs. The rest of the group helped feed the pigs with hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Everyone involved got to interact with several of the pigs at the rescue including three new piglets. There were also three cows that gave the LAVIDGE crew a warm welcome.

“Better Piggie Rescue is one of our favorite IMPACT events not only because we get to interact with these amazing animals, but because we are supporting such a worthy cause,” said Sandra Torre, LAVIDGE co-president, chief financial officer and IMPACT leader. “We feel fortunate to be able to help Danielle with her mission and look forward to visiting the rescue again in the future.”

Danielle Betterman started the Better Piggies Recue nonprofit organization in 2017 with just six pigs and now has more than 180 pigs in her care. She offers rehabilitation, adoption, daily care and safe pig rescues. They are one of the only pig-dedicated sanctuaries in Arizona and rely on volunteer support to ensure the highest quality of care is given to all their animals.
